Wyoming Inmate Search

The Wyoming Department of Corrections provides inmate information on its official website through the Wyoming state offender locator tool. The online Wyoming inmate search will provide information regarding inmates currently incarcerated in state prisons on parole and those on probation.  

There may be instances where offender information may not appear in the locator. They include: 

• When an inmate is in transition between prison and parole supervision.  
• When the offender was given a deferred sentence where they were not convicted.  
• When the offender records are restricted for safety and security reasons. 

The steps to conducting the Wyoming inmate search on the department website are as follows. 

Step 1: Visit the Wyoming offender locator to begin your search. 

Step 2: Type in the inmate's official first and last name or the DOC Inmate number. You can narrow your search by including gender and age.  

Step 3: The search results will include multiple entries of inmates with closely matching names.  

Step 4: Click on your inmate's name from the list. You will view some of the inmate details, such as the inmate's biographical data, prison location, and custody status.  

You should note that the Wyoming offender locator does not provide the inmate's photo details. Request official prison photos through the WDOC public information office at (307) 777-5889. 

If you cannot obtain the required inmate information on the Wyoming state offender locator tool, you can contact the inmate's records department by calling 307-777-7208. You can also visit their headquarters at 1934 Wyott Drive, Suite 100, Cheyenne, WY 82002, and inquire about the inmate records.  

To search for inmates held in the county jails, use the sheriff county inmate locator or the jail roster posted on the official county websites. If you cannot obtain this information, you can call the records office contacts on the county website or visit the county offices in person and request the records.
