Step 1: Visit the Daily Incarcerations page on the department website.
Step 2: To begin your search, select the county, solve the CAPTCHA, and click search.
Step 3: The search results will include multiple results entries of inmates incarcerated in the county jails that day with details of their full names, dates of birth, charges, case numbers, status, and book date
Step 4: Review the inmate record from the list to get your inmate's details
To search for inmates in the county jails.
Step 1: Visit the West Virginia Offender locator (Jails) page
Step 2: Provide the first and last name of the inmate, then solve the CAPTCHA to start your search
Step 3: The search results will include multiple entries of inmates with closely matching names with a link to the 'more info' section and inmate names, locations, and mugshot
Step 4: Click on 'more info to get more information about your inmate, including their booking date, court order list, and personal information such as race and age.
Step 1: Visit the West Virginia Offender locator (Prisons) page
Step 2: Enter the Offender number (OID) or at least four of the first numbers of the number. You can also use the first and last name of the inmate, then solve a CAPTCHA and start the search.
Step 3: Search result(s) will include the offender's name, a mugshot, location, IOD number, and a link.
Step 4: Click on more info to view the inmate status, including their release date and court details.
