Nebraska Inmate Search

There are about 5,557 inmates populations and about 41 incarcerated in county jails. But finding an inmate in Nebraska is relatively easy compared to other states, mainly due to its low prison population. 

How Do You Find an Inmate in Nebraska State Prisons? 

The state operates nine prisons across five communities and 94 county jails. The State prisons include: 

In Lincoln:

• Community Correction Center 
• Nebraska State Penitentiary 
• Reception and Treatment Center 

In Omaha, there are:

• Community Correction Center 
• Nebraska Correctional Youth Facility  

Nebraska Correctional Center for Women in York. Tecumseh State Correctional Institution in Tecumseh, and lastly. Work Ethic Camp in McCook. 

The correctional department has an online database of all the incarcerated inmates from all the facilities. The list also includes inmates in the 94 county jails serving a year or less imprisonment.  

The database includes the inmate's details; 

• Name 
• Physical description, age, race, gender, etc.  
• Mugshots of the offender 
• The criminal charges committed and 
• The location of the offender 

Follow the steps below:  

• Visit the Nebraska Department of Corrections official website. You will need the inmate's name or his correctional department number.  
• From the website, click the incarcerated record icon. It will take you to the Nebraska state offender finder.  
• Key in the inmate's detail and click the submit button to view the profile. 

The search results may be multiple if you don't have the offender's identification number. Therefore, filling in more of the inmate's details, e.g., date of birth or arrest, may help narrow the search. Also, clicking the inmate's mugshot (if available) may help trace the correct one you are looking for. 

Note. If you are locating an inmate from outside the state, the Nebraska offender locator will not work. Therefore, you should install a VPN to search.
