NOTICE:  EFFECTIVE JUNE 1, 2020 THE MONTCALM COUNTY SHERIFF'S ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICE AND JAIL LOBBY WILL BE OPEN TO THE PUBLIC WITH THE FOLLOWING RESTRICTIONS: 

EVERYONE ENTERING INTO EITHER LOBBY WILL BE ENCOURAGED TO WEAR A FACE MASK AND ARE ASKED TO LIMIT THE NUMBER OF PEOPLE/CHILDREN COMING INTO THE LOBBY WITH YOU. 

DO NOT ENTER EITHER LOBBY IF YOU HAVE COVID-19 SYMPTOMS.  WHEN ENTERING EITHER LOBBY EXERCISE SOCIAL DISTANCING AND THE 6 FOOT RULES.  

IF THERE ARE MORE THAN 5 (FIVE) PEOPLE IN THE LOBBY WAIT OUTSIDE OR RETURN TO YOUR VEHICLE UNTIL THE LOBBY HAS LESS OCCUPANCY.

EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES:  Corrections Officers must meet requirements set forth by the Michigan Sheriffs' Coordinating and Training Council.  Deputy Sheriff's must be MCOLES certifiable.  

Montcalm County serves 20 townships consisting of a combined 720 square miles.  The duties of Deputy Sheriff's include patrol, criminal investigation, traffic enforcement, quelling disturbances, and traffic crash investigations.  The duties of Correction Officers include maintaining orderly operations of the 205 bed facility. Competitive wages and benefits including health and eye care insurance as well as a defined benefit pension.
