Part-Time Corrections Officer – Montcalm County Sheriff’s Office: Qualifications include High School Graduation or equivalent.  Prefer advanced coursework in corrections and/or experience related to law enforcement or corrections.  Successfully complete and pass the Michigan Sheriffs’ Coordinating and Training Council written, physical agility and mental health testing requirements; Possession of a valid Michigan Driver’s License; No felony convictions; Not less than 18 years of age; Must be able to pass background and drug test screening.  Applications are available and can be submitted to the Montcalm County Controller’s Office, 211 West Main, P.O. Full-Time Deputy Sheriff, Law Enforcement Services (Road Patrol) – Montcalm County Sheriff’s Office
The Montcalm County Sheriff’s Office is accepting applications for a full-time Sheriff’s Deputy to fill a law enforcement services position.  Qualifications include High School Graduation or equivalent and be eligible to be MCOLES certified.  An Associate’s degree or higher is preferred.  Applicants must be able to successfully pass EMPCO testing; possess a valid Michigan Driver’s License; have no felony convictions; be not less than 21 years of age; and must be able to pass a pre-employment background investigation, psychological evaluation, and drug test screening.

Montcalm County serves 20 townships consisting of a combined 720 square miles.  The duties include patrol, criminal investigation, traffic enforcement, quelling disturbances, and traffic crash investigations.  The wage range is $21.67 to $26.32 and benefits include health and eye care insurance as well as a defined benefit pension.
